ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico women’s golf team had two members honored Thursday as the Mountain West announced the conference’s 2023-24 women’s golf awards. Lauren Lehigh was named first-team All-Mountain West and Myah McDonald was named second-team All-Mountain West.

Lehigh was named All-Mountain West for the third time in her career, earning first-team honors for the first time after second-team accolades in 2021 and 2023. She is ranked No. 77 nationally and has set the school record this season with 22 rounds of par or better. Her stroke average of 71.47 is on pace to break the school record of 71.86. The individual runner-up at the Mountain West Championship, Lehigh has five top-10 finishes this season, including two top-fives.

McDonald was named to the All-Mountain West team for the first time in her career. Ranked No. 179 nationally, her stroke average of 72.77 would rank sixth in school history for a season. She has two top-five finishes among four top-10s, most recently a T-5th at the Mountain West Championship. She has 16 rounds of par or better this season, including six rounds in the 60s.

Lehigh and McDonald will compete next week as individuals at the NCAA Las Vegas Regional at Spanish Trail Golf Club. The top individual finisher from the event will advance to the NCAA Championships later this month in Carlsbad, Calif.
