New Mexico head coach Don Flanagan "Obviously, shooting in the second half was horrendous; just absolutely the worst I've ever seen. I don't have anything to compliment except for their (Utah's) play. They played with poise. They ran their offense effectively. They set better screens than we did. They hit the open shots and they played to win the game. I didn't think that we did. I'm disappointed in the loss. I'm disappointed that I didn't prepare them better."
"We had an opportunity to win at the end and we didn't do it. We had opportunities throughout the game to be more successful. When you shoot 14 or 15 percent in a half, I don't know who you can blame it on. Everything went wrong. I got out-coached. They (Lobo team) got out-played."
Utah Head Coach Elaine Elliott "I was really proud that we stayed focused as a team. We've had problems with having our heads in the right place and this place (The Pit) can keep you from getting that done. Either way I would have been very pleased with my team tonight. This was the first time this season that we have been about the team and not focused on individual accomplishments."
"I'm so proud of their willingness to stay together and that is a sign of growth for us. New Mexico had their runs and we didn't quit. We made a giant step in maturity tonight and it's nice to start 2-0 in the conference."
New Mexico Senior Julie Briody "I just thought we came out in the second half and didn't play up to our potential. We let them get back into the game. We weren't hitting our shots and we were letting them score on us at will, so that's definitely going to turn the game around. I just think we need to do a better job defensively if we are going to go any further in this conference."
"We've just got to get better in practice. We need to get our confidence back. We're a good team but we are just not showing it right now."
