COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. - The Lobos were able to edge past the Rams with a score of 4-3 on neutral territory. The Lobos are now 7-11 overall and 1-4 in conference play, while the Wolf Pack drops to 3-12 overall and 0-5 in league play.

The match started off with doubles with Colorado State earning a close win at number three (8-2). The Lobos fought back at number one to win the match also 8-2 but the Rams were able to clinch the point in a close match with a final score of 9-7.

Colorado State may have clinched the doubles point but the Lobos were already preparing for the comeback in singles play.

The Lobos were able to clinch wins at number four to six. Sarah Khan got the momentum rolling in UNM's favor by taking number four with a score of 6-3, 6-3. Laura Richardson also put the Lobos up on the board by taking number six 6-2, 6-4.

Colorado State answered back by taking numbers two and three putting the score 3-2 in favor of the Rams.

Michaela Oldani made a huge comeback at number five after falling 6-3 in the first set, to win the next two sets 6-2, 6-2. This tied up the score to 3-3.

Michaela Bezdickova was able to clinch the match for UNM in a close third set. She fell in the first set 6-2 but was able to fight back to win the second 6-1. It all came down to the third in which both of the players were unwilling to back down.

Bezdickova ended up getting the better of Abby Stevens in the last two games to clinch the match with a final score of 2-6, 6-1, 7-5.

"Another day and another close match," Head Coach Erica Perkins Jasper said. "We didn't play our best at times--conditions were tough--but I was very pleased with how we competed and fought. It's hard to come back when you lose the doubles point and lose 4 first sets but we found a way."

"Misa Bezdickova really stepped up in the end and took care of business to clinch the match for us. Definitely very proud of our team; they all have a lot of heart!"

The Lobos will now face conference opponent Wyoming on neutral territory starting tomorrow at 10 a.m. MT.
