New Mexico head coach Steve Alford:

"This was a game we were concerned about, it was the Mountain West versus an Atlantic team type of atmosphere and we knew St. Bonaventure had been tested before, these guys had been through some good things and we had a lot of concerns and I thought we did a great job on Lee. We held him to half of his scoring low to both points and rebounds so I thought our guys did a great job of concentrating in that regards and we had very good balance again tonight."

"I hope (the good balance) can continue, I wouldn't know what two guys, if you are trying to get an eight man, nine man rotation, I wouldn't know what two guys can't get the minutes. Everyone is doing a nice job of the roles they are supposed to be doing. I would love to play everybody just like this, it's great for coaches everybody gets to play, they practice very hard and hopefully we can wear teams down. If you look at how teams shoot the ball during the course of the game we can have a little something to do with that just by running the bodies we can run in on them."

"I have no idea what happened last year and really don't care. I was 1300 miles away with my own issues with the team I had in Iowa City and we haven't talked about any of that. If you ask the guys this is a new season, it's a whole different situation. They were 5-0 last year and if we are lucky enough to get to 5-0 this year, I don't know if that means anything. This is a team that has a long way to go. We had a lot of break downs defensively on the dribble drive and that's a concern, we had concerns on the backboard at the beginning of the year and we had concerns on taking care of the basketball at the beginning of the year. We have about ten turnovers a game and about 20 assists a game so our assists/turnover ratio is 2 to 1, and we have out rebounded every team we've played."

St. Bonaventure head coach Mark Schmidt:

"It was an interesting game in that we got off to a decent start, we were playing OK, we got to a little bit of a lead midway through and then we got into a little bit of a rut. We got it cut to seven and then the last minute of the half, we just blew up. We had the momentum and we got it back a little bit and then in the last minute and a half we lost it. New Mexico is a very good team. They're athletic. They shoot the heck out of the basketball. Part of it was us, we had turnovers."

"We had a hard time initiating offense and getting the ball to where it needed to be. They (the Lobos) took our rhythm away. We just did a poor job offensively."

"We have things to work on. We got to bounce back. We came in to win three games, and now we can't, but the goal now is to leave here 2-1. That would be something that would be good for us."
