New Mexico junior forward Drew Gordon
Comments on the game
"We didn't play the smartest basketball game, but we played hard. The first half was slow, but we went back in at halftime and figured out what was wrong and then corrected it. I think we did a pretty good job for how slow it started in the first half."
On his 18 rebounds (nine offensive)
"It just kind of came to me. Everybody was playing in their spots and my team was spacing well, running the offense and then boxing out and the ball just kind of ended up in my hands. At the time you don't really think about it, you just think about the ball and go get it."
New Mexico freshman guard Tony Snell
On being the team's designated 3-point shooter
"I'm just doing my job. Coach told me to shoot the ball, so I've got to shoot the ball."
On his last two home games (16 pts. vs. BYU and 19 pts. vs. Wyoming--career high)
"My confidence came back up. At the beginning (of the season) I was kind of lost, but now that I know the system my confidence is back, and I know what I have to do."
On finally pulling away with the lead in the second half
"We had to get defensive stops, because our defense was horrible in the first half so we had to pick it up in the second half."
Wyoming Interim Head Coach Fred Langley
On becoming interim head coach on Monday
"It's been tough for everybody. Being put in this situation has been difficult for me. I was told to just step in and do the best I can and what not. The kids are still fighting and the coaches are here and still fighting."
Thoughts on the game
"I think the team has been playing well for the last three games. I was proud of how they responded but we have been playing well for a while. We just haven't been able to get over the top but coming to The Pit is a whole different animal. I thought they responded pretty well."
