Unfortunately not all New Mexico competitors had a positive day. Ruth Senior started the 3,000 steeplechase at a good pace but fell after the first water steeple. The rain was coming down heavy as Senior ended the race with a time of 10:20.45 good for 9th place.
Chris Barnicle was running at a good pace in the 10,000-meters before he dropped out around the 20-minute mark.
Deanna Young finished 14th in the triple jump with a mark of 41-10.50 (12.76m). Young was still in the top-8 of US citizens which earns her All-American honors in the triple jump.
