The Lobos faced conference opponents Nevada and #42 San Diego State. The Lobos traveled to the teams respecitve home sites and won in a tough matchup against Nevada 4-3 but fell 4-3 by San Diego State. The Lobos are 11-12 for the dual match season. Leading the Lobos in singles is senior Jadon Phillips with a dual match record of 13-9. In his last 10 appearances, he is 5-5. Following behind him is fellow senior Conor Berg with a record of 11-8. Top doubles team for the Lobos is Conor Berg/Andrew Van der Vyver with a record of 8-8. Following behind them is the duo of James Hignett/Mads Hegelund with a record of 7-3 in dual matches.
The Falcons lost a pair of league matches on the road last weekend, falling to 42nd-ranked San Diego State, 6-1, and Mountain West newcomer Nevada, 5-2. Air Force is now 10-11 overall and 0-5 in the Mountain West this season. Junior Andy Jackson posted the team's lone win agaisnt the Aztecs, winning the No. 6 singles match in three sets. Senior Lance Wilhelm (No. 1) and junior Alex Grubbs (No. 4) each won his singles match against Nevada, while Wilhelm and sophomore Grant Taylor won the No. 1 doubles match. Wilhelm received his first national ranking on Feb. 12, entering the ITA Division I Men's Singles rankings at No. 85. Wilhelm, from Gig Harbor, Wash., is the first Air Force men's player to receive a national singles ranking since Shannon Buck in 2006. He is currently ranked No. 97.
The Lobos will stay in Colorado Springs, Colo. to take part in the Mountain West Championships on April 25-28, 2013, where they will face teams such as San Diego State, Boise State, and UNLV to name a few.
