UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - University of New Mexico junior Josh Cosio cleared an indoor career best 6' 9" (2.06m) to finish ninth in the men's high jump as the Lobos wrapped up their two days of competition this afternoon at Penn State's National Invitational meet. Earlier in the day, junior teammate Tiyana Peters tied for sixth in the women's high jump with a leap of 5' 5 ¾" (1.67m).

Cosio defeated 17 competitors in the field of 26 and cleared the 6' 9" bar on his third and final attempt, surpassing his previous indoor best by two inches. The Albuquerque Manzano product owns a lifetime best of 6' 10", which he recorded during the 2006 outdoor season.

Peters, meanwhile, knocked off 22 competitors in the women's field, but was unable to improve upon her Mountain West Conference leading mark of 5' 7 ¾" (1.72m), which she recorded last week at Northern Arizona.
