Senior women's Nordic skier Martina Stursova earned a spot on the 2005 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American Women's At-Large team. The women's At-Large program for Academic All-America includes the sports of bowling, crew, fencing, golf, gymnastics, field hockey, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, tennis, and water polo. It is the second-straight year Stursova has earned Academic All-American status, posting a 3.97 grade-point-average in Biology.

Stursova, a native of Policka, Czech Republic, was one of three skiers to earn a spot on the first-team. This season she earned All-American honors in both the women's classic and freestyle events, placing third in each at the NCAA Championships. She also led the Lobo women to their straight NCAA women's freestyle team championship. Stursova posted eight top-3 finishes in four meets, including four wins on the season.

A three-time All-American during her career at UNM, Stursova posted a total of eight wins in three seasons. She was the top-ranked freestyle skier in the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association the last two years, and was only in the top-3 in the RMISA freestyle event.
