Stursova Earns First Team Academic All-American Honor

Martina Stursova, a junior on the Lobo women's Nordic ski team, was named to the Academic All-America at-large first team today by the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) today. Stursova is a native of Policka, Czech Republic, and carries a 3.97 cumulative grade-point-average in Biology at UNM. She is also a two-time All-American Nordic skier for the Lobos.

Stursova has been impressive in her two years in a Lobo uniform. In the 22 collegiate races she has entered, Stursova has finished in the top-10 21 times. Her All-American performance in 2004 helped guide the Lobos to the NCAA Skiing Championship, the first NCAA title in any sport for the University of New Mexico. Stursova is also a two-time member of the Academic All-NCAA ski team and is eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-American honors in 2004.
