2013-14 (Freshman Season)

Baklini finished her first season at UNM with an overall singles record of 14-7. She posted a 10-5 singles record in the 2013 fall tournament season and a 4-2 singles record in regular season play. Baklini recorded a 14-12 doubles record for her first season. She competed primarily in the No. 3 doubles spot with teammate Emily Olivier. Baklini and Olivier posted a 10-7 record as a duo.

Baklini also received plenty of recognition for academic success during her first year at UNM. She was named to the 2014 Academic All-Mountain West team and was also named a 2014 MW Scholar-Athlete. Additionally, Baklini was named a 2014 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar Athlete.

Prior to UNM

She is a graduate of Eldorado HS in Albuquerque, N.M. Baklini was coached by Serena Taylor at Eldorado where she won a 5A State Championship in 2013. Her highest national ranking before coming to UNM was 172 and she had an overall record of 9-6. She was also the recipient of the Sportsmanship Award from Eldorado for showing outstanding sportsmanship while playing tennis. She was a state runner-up in 2012, placed second in the New Mexico Junior Championship, and advanced to the semi-finals in New Mexico Women’s Open in 2012. 


She is the daughter of Robert Baklini who is a UNM Tennis Alumni. She has a twin brother, Sean Baklini, who also joined the Lobo tennis program.

Baklini is undecided on her major at UNM. When she’s not playing tennis, Baklini enjoys snowboarding and hiking.
