Susan Baklini

Prior to UNM:

She is a graduate of Eldorado HS in Albuquerque, N.M. Baklini was coached by Serena Taylor at Eldorado where she won a 5A State Championship in 2013. Her highest national ranking before coming to UNM was 172 and she had an overall record of 9-6. She was also the recipient of the Sportsmanship Award from Eldorado for showing outstanding sportsmanship while playing tennis. She was a state runner-up in 2012, placed second in the New Mexico Junior Championship, and advanced to the semi-finals in New Mexico Women’s Open in 2012. 


She is the daughter of Robert Baklini who is a UNM Tennis Alumni. She has a twin brother, Sean Baklini, who also joined the Lobo tennis program.

Baklini is undecided on her major at UNM. When she’s not playing tennis, Baklini enjoys snowboarding and hiking.

We knew she had a lot of talent, but that it would take some time and experience to adjust to this new level -- however Susie has really suprised everyone with how quickly she adjusted. She is a tremendous leader and has an infectious, positive personality. We are so happy that Susie is a Lobo!"
