ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Make it ten-straight matches for Jeff Nelson's Lobo volleyball team.

New Mexico improved to 11-1 overall and 2-0 in Mountain West play with a sweep of Wyoming (8-6, 0-2 MW) on Thursday night at the Johnson Center in front of 1,338 fans.

The Lobos routed the Cowgirls 25-14, 25-16 and 25-14, to protect their match win streak and undefeated home mark.

"It was a great team effort and it was the most consistent we've played through a match this far," Nelson said. "We have a lot of respect for Wyoming and we think they're a really good team, but we were able to execute tonight. Things just worked for us."

Freshman Julia Warren had a career night as she hit .619 with 13 kills on 21 swings and no errors. She added three blocks.

Cassie House, also a freshman outside hitter, had nine kills while redshirt junior Chantale Riddle had eight.

"We knew we had good match ups on the outside, so we really went with that," Nelson said. "Both of our freshmen had huge nights, and then in game three we were able to bring it back to Chantale a bit and let her work some of her magic.

"The thing we did best though was we blocked. We blocked, and blocked, and blocked against the team that is the best blocking team. I really like what we're doing at the net. Chantale and Skye Gullatt put up a couple of monster blocks."

Senior Lexi Ross had six blocks -- four block assists and two solo blocks -- while Gullatt, a sophomore, added three blocks.

The Lobos had 12.0 blocks compared to just 2.0 by Wyoming, the No. 1 blocking team in the nation.

New Mexico held Wyoming to a .079 hitting percentage (30k-22e-101ta).

Bridget Shanahan paced Wyoming with 11 kills. Erin Kirby, the Mountain West and national leader in blocks recorded just one solo stuff.

"We executed our game plan perfectly tonight," Warren said. "Our passing went well and Hannah Johnson set amazing tonight.

"We're here to battle in conference and I think this is a really good stepping stone to what we want to do by the end of the season."

The Lobos hit a season-best .348, recording 42 kills in 92 total attempts and making just 10 errors.

Johnson directed the offense en route to tallying 32 assists. She added four blocks and seven digs in defensive efforts.

Senior Libero Miquella Lovato had a match-high 16 digs.

New Mexico hosts No. 19 Colorado State at 1 p.m. MT on Saturday. The Rams improved to 11-0 with a sweep of Air Force on Thursday night.

The Lobos pulled ahead 9-4 in set one off blocks from Ross and Johnson and kills by freshmen House and Warren. Those four players continued to lead UNM in a 25-14 rout of the Cowgirls.

Warren and House had five kills apiece in set one, while Ross and Johnson finished with three blocks apiece.

A few miscues early in set two allowed Wyoming to build an 8-5 lead, but the Lobos regrouped and charged back with a 10-1 run to claim the lead and cruise to a 25-16 set win.

The third set was all Cherry and Silver as UNM cruised to a 15-9 set lead and finished the Cowgirls, 25-14.

Warren and Riddle had four kills apiece in the final set.
