ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Dominique Dulski and Natasha Smith came up short in the 2013 ITA Mountain Regional Doubles semifinals on Sunday morning in Las Vegas, Nev.
Utah’s Paige Miles and No. 1 seed Teresa Bekerova defeated the New Mexico duo, 8-1. The Lobos had been battling since Wednesday morning to earn a spot in the semifinals.
“Obviously it was a disappointing loss for Dom and Natasha this morning,” head coach Erica Jasper said. “We had a hard time getting things going early and against a team like that, it's tough to come back. I am exceptionally proud of these two--they had a great tournament and represented our program so well all week.”
Misa Bezdickova and Lizette Blankers did not compete on the final day of regionals as there were no consolation matches held.
The Lobos are headed back to Albuquerque to prepare for their next tournament, the 2013 Collegiate Clay Invitational in Orlando, Fla., Oct. 24-27.
“We have so many positives to build off of after this tournament. It will be fun to get to work this coming week,” Jasper said.
