This Week in UNM Women’s Soccer ... The Lobos head out on the road for its final two road matches of the season, taking on Utah State on Friday at 3 p.m., and then the team travels to Boise State for a noon matchup on Sunday.
The Lobos won a pair of games last week, defeating NEvada 3-2 in an odd game in which UNM dominiated but Nevada managed to stay within striking distance due to an own goal and a clearance that hit a Nevada player and bounced into the net. The Lobos continued its hot play with a defensive gem, shutting down UNMLV and its high-flying offense with a 1-0 win.
Utah State played a game Tuesday, defeating Air Force 2-0 in Logan in a make-up game. That win put them on the edge of the fourth berth into the Mountain West Tournament, and Boise State is sitting at 4-2 in the Mountain West, and they can possibly clinch a berth after the results on Thursday.
