This Week in UNM Women’s Soccer ... The Lobos will finish off the regular season with a Friday night home match against the 2013 regular season champions the San Diego State Aztecs. The Aztecs got the title when they posted a 2-0 win over Utah State about 25 minutes after Boise State defeated the Lobos 2-1 in double-overtime.

The Lobos are in a battle for conference seeding, and with the new tournament format, seeding is pretty much everything. UNM would lock in a double-bye with a win on Friday night. Anything else and they would have to have some help along the way from Fresno State and Boise State.

The Lobos will also say goodbye to six seniors that will be playing in their final regular season home game on Friday night. Liz Nare, Elba Holguin, Brooke Ellison, Brianna Webster and Ashley Espinoza are all four year seniors, while Shelbie Luna is a fifth-year senior.

There will be a short ceremony prior to the match honoring the six seniors.
