CFPA National Performers of the Week

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- University of New Mexico sophomore Carlos Wiggins on Monday was one of four players nationally to earn College Football Performance Awards National Kick Returner of the Week.

Wiggins scored on a 100-yard return in the second quarter of the Lobos' 66-42 loss to Colorado State on Saturday night. Wiggins finished with 151 return yards on four attempts, and the Rams kicked to four other Lobo returners to stay away from Wiggins after he scored.

The 5-foot-8, 155-pound wide receiver from Plano, Texas, has two 100-yard returns this season. He leads the Mountain West and ranks seventh nationally in kick returns with an average of 28.8 yards per attempt.

Wiggins joins Purdue's Raheem Mostert, Oregon's DeAnthony Thomas and Colorado's Nelson Spurce as honorees this week.

The Lobos return to action on Saturday at 2 p.m. MT to take on 15th-ranked Fresno State in Fresno, Calif. The game will be on ESPNews.
