Streaks and trends

*New Mexico defeated Colorado State 68-66 in a game in which UNM trailed 63-60 with 2:33 to go

*The game was the third game in a row that UNM allowed exactly 27 points.

*It also marked the third game this year that neither UNM nor its opponent broke 30 in the first half (Cincinnati 27-20 and San Jose State 28-25).

*New Mexico is now 2-4 when trailing at the half.

*UNM is 12-0 when outshooting its opponents.

*UNM is 5-1 on the road this season, the only loss at Kansas.

*UNM’s six second chance points were tied for its fewest of the season.

*It’s UNM’s first 4-0 road conference start since the 1984 WAC season, and the only road start better is the 1978 season in which UNM opened 5-0 on the road in the WAC on the way to a 13-1 start.

In-Game Notes

*Alex Kirk did not start the game, and did not play due to a foot injury.  His official status is day-to-day.  Obij Aget started in his place.

*New Mexico had a season-low three offensive rebounds and none in the second half.  Its previous low was seven against Boise State and against Grand Canyon.

*Hugh Greewood hit the go-ahead three-pointer with 49.5 seconds left to make it 66-64.

*UNM went 0-for-9 from three in the first half and 7-for-11 in the second.

*After allowing 10 offensive rebounds in the first half, UNM allowed just two in the second.


Senior F Cameron Bairstow

*Scored 19 points for his 18th double-figure scoring game this season.

*He led the team with six rebounds.

 Senior G Kendall Williams

*A season removed from scoring 46 points at Moby Arena, Kendall Williams scored 23.

*For Williams he has scored in double-figures in all 19 games this year.

*Williams had four points in the first half and 19 in the second, including five three-pointers.

*With his 23 points he now has 1,612 career points, the ninth player with 1,600 career points at UNM

*Now has played 3,928 career minutes, still in seventh, but on Tuesday at Utah State he should move into fourth with 19 minutes playeds.

 Junior G Deshawn Delaney

*Had five rebounds and three assists.

Junior G Hugh Greenwood

*Socred eight points with two three-pointers, including the game-winner.  Had four assists and no turnovers, giving him just 14 turnovers in 16 games.

Freshman C Obij Aget

*Made his first career start, and he became the second true freshman to start a game this season for UNM (Cullen Neal).
