HIGH SCHOOL: A three-year starter and two-time District 21-3A Most Valuable Player for the Tigers (junior and senior seasons) … threw for 4,843 career yards with 46 TDs … also rushed for 2,772 yards and 24 TDs … was an honorable mention All-State and a finalist for the Willey Ray Award, which annually goes to the best player in Southeast Texas in 2013 … the Beaumont Enterprise named him the 2013 Offensive MVP of its Super Gold Football Team … completed 117 of 199 passes for 1,832 yards with 21 touchdowns and five interceptions during his senior season in 2013 … also carried the ball 168 times for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns … Silsbee advanced to the regional round of the Class 3A Division I playoffs … in 2012, completed 132 of 242 passes for 2,159 yards with 18 TDs and eight interceptions … also ran for 1,087 yards and seven TDs on 141 carries … named second-team All-State and the Southeast Texas Junior Year by TheOldCoach.com … the Tigers went 10-3 and advanced to the Class 3A quarterfinals … as a sophomore in 2010, completed 59 of 123 passes for 852 yards with seven touchdowns and eight interceptions … also ran for 427 yards and three scores on 93 carries … the Tigers advanced to the 3A playoffs and finished with an 8-3 record.
