The Lobos improve to 13-2 overall and 4-1 in league play while Boise State drops to 7-7 overall and 2-3 in MW contests.
The Lobos were paced at the net by redshirt junior Chantale Riddle and freshmen Julia Warren and Cassie House. Riddle tallied 20 kills while Warren and House each added 14.
Redshirt sophomore Hannah Johnson recorded her 10th double-double of the season with 48 assists, 14 digs and two blocks.
New Mexico hit a scorching .359 (61-15-128) while holding Boise State to .193 accuracy (55-27-145). Senior Miquella Lovato anchored the Lobos' back court with 16 digs while sophomore middle blocker Skye Gullatt led UNM with seven blocks.
New Mexico returns to the Johnson Center for two home conference matches next week, hosting San Diego State on Thursday, Oct. 10 and UNLV on Saturday, Oct. 12. Both matches begin at 7 p.m. MT.
Set one - Lobos 25, Boise State 22
The Broncos opened with a block and five kills to take a 6-2 lead in set one. New Mexico played catch up the rest of the set until a kill by Riddle made it 17-19 and sent the Lobos on a 9-3 run to close out the match, 25-22 UNM. Riddle had five kills in the Lobos' final nine points. She finisehd with seven kills in the set.
New Mexico hit .455 in set one, recording 17 kills on 33 swings and making just two errors. The Broncos also had 17 kills, but had seven errors in 41 total attempts for .244 accuracy.
Set two - Boise State 25, Lobos 20
The Lobos again found themselves down early in set two, this time the Broncos opened with a 4-1 lead and kept the Lobos at bay by at least two points for most of the set.
New Mexico would string together two or three points only for Boise State to answer with two or three consecutive points.
One such run by the Broncos brought it to 22-18 for the home team. A kill by Riddle followed by an attack error by the Broncos cut Boise State's lead to 22-20. But Boise State got a kill and a service ace before a Lobo attack error ended the set, 25-20, in favor of BSU.
The Lobos again outhit Boise State in set two (.290-.250), but made more attack errors (6-3), service errors (3-2) and reception errors (2-0).
Set three - Lobos 25, Boise State 20
The third set saw six tie scores as the teams went point-for-point until the Lobos went on a 12-3 sprint, opening with three consecutive kills from Warren, Riddle and Ross, to pull ahead 21-13.
The home team wasn't going to make it easy for New Mexico and answered with a 6-2 run of their own to cut the lead to 23-19. A kill by House stalled the run and put UNM at set point. A kill by the Broncos out of the back row prolonged the set momentarily, but a scorcher from Warren ended it, 25-20 in favor of the Lobos.
New Mexico hit .467 in the third set (16-2-30) while holding Boise State to .200 accuracy (15-8-35).
Set four - Lobos 25, Broncos 22
A botched attack by the Broncos followed by a kill from House thwarted a lead change, but BSU kept things close and tied it again at 13-13. Four answered points by the Lobos put the Cherry and Silver ahead, 17-13. The Broncos threatened with a 4-1 run, but New Mexico held on and pushed to a 25-22 set win and a 3-1 match victory.
