ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of New Mexico football team began to reload Wednesday by signing three junior college players.
The Lobos signed one defensive back, one linebacker and one offensive lineman. The lone offensive player is Eden Mahina from Mount San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif. Mahina anchored a line for an offense that averaged 160 rushing yards and 270 passing yards per game on its way to putting up 41 points per game as part of a 9-2 season. He played on both the offensive and defensive lines while at Upland High School in Ontario, Calif., and earned All-CIF Central Division honors. Mahina also had an offer from Middle Tennessee State.
The Lobos have landed a pair of teammates from junior college powerhouse Iowa Western Community College. Defensive back Daniel Henry was a 2013 All-Midwest Football Conference selection after recording 46 tackles, one interception, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and a whopping nine pass breakups. The San Diego native helped the Reivers to an 11-1 record, including a victory in the Graphic Edge Bowl, in 2013. Henry also had offers from UNLV and Wyoming.
Ryan Langford is an athletic linebacker who joined Henry as an All-Midwest Football Conference performer in 2013. As a sophomore he had 64 tackles, including 9.5 for a loss, with two interceptions, three fumble recoveries, two defensive touchdowns and two pass breakups. At Assumption High School in Davenport, Iowa, he was named All-State as a senior in 2010 after posting 106 tackles on defense and 978 total yards with 10 touchdowns on offense. He also had offers from Utah State, Illinois, Iowa State and Toledo.

2012: Played one season at Weber State University, appearing in 11 games as a true freshman … played special teams, recording three tackles on the year.
HIGH SCHOOL: Earned All-Coastal League honors at cornerback for the Torreys in 2011 … recorded 29 tackles (nine solos) with 13 pass breakups, one interception, three tackles for loss and two forced fumbles … La Jolla went 7-5 and advanced to the second round of the CIF San Diego Sectional Playoffs in 2011 … attended Horizon Christian Academy in 2010 where he was a teammate of current Lobo defensive back Markel Byrd.
