I can't tell you how much your support, passion, care, love and energy means to our players and to me. You are everything to Lobo Soccer. Quite a season and I am so proud of the players and all that they have accomplished. Speaking on behalf of the team, our greatest disappointment is that we couldn't bring home a National Title for you and for all New Mexicans. WE LOVE NEW MEXICO! WE LOVE OUR FAITHFUL AND CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR YOUR NEVER ENDING PASSION AND SUPPORT!

We had it in us to win the whole thing….wasn't to be. After three lock-down, shut-out performances in the NCAA Tournament, we weren't at our best Friday night in the national semifinal versus Notre Dame. Seeing the Lobo Faithful braving the elements in Philly, supporting this team brought tears to my and our eyes and an ache to our hearts. Those that attended the match….can't tell you how much it meant to all of us. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! The match statistics were very even, but we made two uncharacteristic mistakes in possession and Notre Dame capitalized, scoring both their goals in transition against the run of play. My hat is off to Notre Dame and their disciplined defending and opportunistic attack. They are a classy team with outstanding players who went on to defeat Maryland in the Championship match. Our boys reacted with class and tremendous sportsmanship. Can't say enough about this team! Here is the NCAA Final Four Re-Cap.

Exams are over and everyone is heading home for the holidays. Five weeks off and back at it January 20th. We can't wait for next season! Three of our four seniors have been selected to attend the Major League Soccer Pre-Draft Combine. The "Top 50" Division I professional prospects are flown to Florida on January 10th for three days of testing and matches. It’s a pretty incredible complement to our program that three Lobos were selected as "Top 50" senior prospects. The MLS Draft takes place on January 17th and I feel all three will be drafted (Venter, Calderon and Kafari). Only four goalkeepers were selected and Lisch was "odd man out". I'm confident that Michael will be invited to professional pre-season camps and will find his way on to an opening day roster. Lisch was incredible this season! I will keep you posted on how all four’s progress in pursuit of their dreams.

Venter was named to an NSCAA All-America Team for the third consecutive year and five players were named to the NSCAA Midwest All-Region Team: Venter, Calderon, Kafari, Gibbons and McKendry. More awards to come (academic and on-field). Individual awards are a result of great teammates. 25 wonderful players this year!

Thanks again for everything and I will keep you updated on happenings within the program. The final episode of "Fish Off The Pitch" shoots Wednesday and should air end of the week.

The Lobo Faithful drive us to achieve EXCELLENCE.

Happy Holidays and GO LOBOS!
