Streaks and trends

*New Mexico defeated UNLV 68-56 to improve to 20-5 overall and 11-2 in the Mountain West. 

*New Mexico is now 18-1 when leading at the half, and 9-1 in conference games.

*UNM committed just eight turnovers, the 10th time in 13 Mountain West games that UNM has committed single-digit turnovers.

*UNM is now 18-2 when shooting above 40% this season, 38-3 in the last 41, and 62-4 in the last three seasons.

*UNM has now won 20 games for the 27th time, all occurring since the 1963-64 season.  UNM now has seven straight 20-win seasons, the second longest streak in school history.

In-Game Notes

*New Mexico led wire-to-wire for the seventh time this season and the second time in a row.

*The Lobos led at the break 38-29.  It was the 10th time in 13 conference games that UNM has allowed 31 points or fewer in the first half. 

*UNM has now held eight straight opponents below its season scoring average.

*New Mexico led by as much as 17 at the 15:39 mark of the second half.

Junior C Alex Kirk

*Had two blocks to give him multiple blocks in a game for the 17th time this season and the 39th time in his career.

Senior F Cameron Bairstow

*Scored 18 points, his 24th double-figure scoring game of the season. 

*Set a career-high with five blocked shots.

*Had a career-high 20 field goal attempts                                                                    

 Senior G Kendall Williams

*Scored 29 points, his 24th double-figure scoring game of the season.

*Broke the 1,700-career point mark, and remained in ninth place on the list with 1,710  

*Had three assists and is now two behind Kelvin Scarborough had 574 for third on the career list.

*Had two steals and moved ahead of Charles Smith and into sixth on the career list with 178

*Is now third in career free throws made with 536, one behind Dairese Gary for second and 11 behind Phil Smith for first in school history.

*Tied for the team lead in rebounding with seven

Sophomore F Merv Lindsay

*Played a career-high 22 minutes

*Hit his first career three-pointer.

*Had career-highs in points (3), rebounds (3), and assists (2).

 Junior G Hugh Greenwood

*Played 30 minutes and had a team-high tying seven rebounds, and four assists with no turnovers.

*Now has 74 assists and 17 turnovers in 691 minutes and 22 games. 

*Improved his assist-to-turnover ratio to 4.35-to-1.
