Streaks and trends

*New Mexico lost its third consecutive NCAA Tournament game, losing 58-53 to the 10-seed, Stanford.

*New Mexico finishes the season with 14 wins away from The Pit, tying the school record for the most wins away from The Pit for the second straight year.

*New Mexico trailed at the break 32-27 and finished the season 4-5 when trailing at the half.

*New Mexico is now 8-16 all-time in the NCAA Tournament, and 1-2 as a 7-seed.

*The 27 wins is the fifth-most in school history.

In-Game Notes

*New Mexico trailed 20-4 after the first 6:22 of the first half.  It took 19:50 for Stanford to score its next 20 points.

*New Mexico never led after 4-3, although UNM tied the game at 45 with 10:07 to go.  However, Cullen Neal missed the free throw to put UNM ahead, and then the Lobos went 2-for-17 from there to end the game, including 0-for-8 FGs, 0-3 FTs and two turnovers over a span of 11 possessions.

Head Coach Craig Neal        

*Finished his first season 27-7 overall, the winningest first year for a rookie head coach at New Mexico, and tied for the 12th most wins by a first year coach in Division I.

*First coach in UNM history to lead the team to the NCAA Tournament is his first season.

*His 27 wins were three more than the previous record holder Steve Alford, who went 24-9 in his first season.

Senior F Cameron Bairstow

*Scored 24 points, his 33rd double-figure scoring game of the season

*Now has 1,239 points and finished 20th in school history on the career scoring list.

*Finished fourth on the single-season scoring list with 694 points.

*Finished 10th in career rebounds with 637.

*Eighth player in school history with 1,200 points and 600 rebounds.

*Now has made 219 free throws this season, second-most in school history.

*Now has attempted 298 free throws, second-most in school history.             

*Finished fifth on the career games played list with 134.

Junior C Alex Kirk                                         

*Held without a field goal, ending a streak of 68 straight games with at least one made basket.  The last time Alex played and didn’t hit a field goal was against Colorado State in the 2011 Mountain West Tournament.

*Finished the season with 686 career rebounds and is eighth in school history.

*Finished the season with 277 rebounds, tying for 16th most in a single season.

 Senior G Kendall Williams

*Finished tied for the school record with 137 career games played.

*Scored three points and finished with 1,813 career points, the fifth Lobo in school history with 1,800 points.

*Has the most made free throws in school history with 556.

*Finished with 727 career free throw attempts, three behind Kenny Thomas for second place.

Junior G Deshawn Delaney

*Had 10 points and six rebounds.

Freshman G Cullen Neal

*Scored four points on two field goals, but the Lobos dropped to 18-1 when he records two field goals in a game this season.

Junior G Hugh Greenwood

*Scored nine points on 3-of-6 shooting.
