Question: Is this a chance for redemption after last year's 49-0 loss to Texas Tech at home?
DonTrell Moore: "Not really redemption because it's a different year with a different team. They're going to be a better team than last year in my opinion. We can't really dwell on last year. We can't put it in the back of our minds but we can't be too conscious of it because they are a different team from last year so we have to prepare accordingly."
Q: Why do you think Texas Tech will be better than last year?
DM: "They have a different defensive scheme with a different mind set. They get better every year. That's their tradition and we have to prepare accordingly to make sure that we can be the best team we can be on Saturday."
Q: Are the Lobos getting better to the point where they can compete on a national level?
DM: "We've always felt like we can compete it just didn't result in the victories we wanted. We have to get better and that's what we're striving to do every year and every day. Hopefully our hard work and dedication will turn into wins on Saturdays."
Q: How important is it to get out to a good start against Texas Tech?
DM: "It's important in every game, not just this game. You want that comfort level and that confidence."
Q: How has the offense been able to be so successful in the red zone (30 of last 31)?
DM: "Whenever we get in the red zone we know that we have to get it in. We're not looking for just three points, we want six. That's just the mind set that we've taken."
