  • New Mexico improves to 14-2 overall, 1-0 MWC, after a 65-60 win over UNLV (13-3, 0-1 MW)
  • The Lobos finished the game with a 9-2 run over the final 2:26
  • After shooting 38.6% from the floor tonight (22-57), the Lobos have shot less than 40% in 4 straight games for the first time since the last 4 games of the 1999-2000 season (at UNLV, vs. BYU, South Florida, at Wake Forest)
  • The Lobos won tonight despite shooting a season-low 51.7% (15-29) from the FT line...UNM missed 8 of its last 14 attempts from the line...UNM came into the game shooting 75% from the stripe
  • UNLV was guilty of 11 turnovers in the 2nd half, all coming in the final 15:12 of the game
  • New Mexico held UNLV freshman Anthony Bennett to 12 points and 6 rebounds in 26 minutes...Bennett came in averaging 19.9 points and 9.1 rebounds
  • Tonight was the 3rd time both UNM and UNLV were ranked coming into the game...the Lobos are 3-0 in those games....previously, No. 20 UNM beat No. 16 UNLV 89-76 in The Pit on Jan. 17, 1978, and No. 15 UNM beat No. 23 UNLV 76-66 in Las Vegas on Feb. 10, 2010
  • UNM is 4-1 in its last 5 games against ranked UNLV teams
  • The Lobos have won 3 straight against UNLV for the 1st time since taking 4 in a row between 1978-79
  • UNM avoided losing consecutive home games for only the 2nd time in 96 games under head coach Steve Alford...the only time was to Utah and UNLV on Feb. 19 and 23, 2011...Alford is 85-11 in The Pit
  • Dating to last year, the Lobos are 7-1 in their last 8 games against ranked opponents...the lone loss was 59-56 to No. 17 Louisville in last year's NCAA Tournament

  • 6 points and he tied a career-high with 10 rebounds...also had 10 at Indiana State

Junior G Kendall Williams

  • scored 9 of his 11 points in the final 7:01 of the game, including a pair of 3-pointers
  • also had 3 assists and 3 steals
  • still 27th all-time at UNM with 1,050 points

Junior G Tony Snell

  • 13 points and 3 assists in a team-high 37 minutes
