Men's and Women's Cross Country Earn All-Academic Team Honors

NEW ORLEANS - The University of New Mexico men's and women's cross country teams both earned All-Academic Team honors, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced on Wednesday. The New Mexico women posted a 3.320 team GPA, while the men had a 3.060.

A record total of 160 Division I women's programs and 110 men's teams received the USTFCCCA's All-Academic Team honors this year.

For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Meet. The team must also have a minimum 3.00 team cumulative GPA.

The Lobo women finished second at the NCAA Mountain Region Championships and went on to place 18th at the NCAA Championships. The men's team capped its season with a fourth place finish at the Mountain Region meet.
