Albuquerque, N.M. - The University of New Mexico men's basketball team opened the 2003-2004 season with a 95-42 rout of San Francisco State. The Lobos (1-0) were led by Sophomore David Chiotti's career high 22 points while Senior Javin Tindall's chipped in 18 points. UNM canned 13 of 18 3-point shots, setting a school record with a 72.2 percentage.
The Lobos are now 72-25 in home openers and have won 39 of their last 43. The 53 point margin of victory tied for the seventh largest in New Mexico history and tied for the fifth largest in the history of The Pit.
