Levin Named MWC Golfer of the Month for September

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. - Junior Spencer Levin of the UNM men's golf team was named Mountain West Conference Men's Golfer of the Month for September after taking medalist honors and leading the Lobos to the team title at the Topy Cup in Japan. New Mexico defeated Auburn, Texas and Arizona in the first fall tournament.

Levin began the 2004 fall season with a first place finish at the Topy Cup in Fukushima, Japan September 7-9. He captured the title by four strokes after carding three straight under-par rounds of 68-71-66. His 54-hole total of 11-under, 205 on the par-72, 7,086 Tanagura Country Club course is the eighth-best round in UNM history.

The Lobos return to the course on Oct.22, in Stanford, Calif., for The Nelson Invitational.
