With its 72-60 victory, New Mexico snaps a 3-game losing streak and improves to 14-3 in The Pit, 5-7 in the MWC and 14-11 overall...the Lobos have won five straight and 12 of their last 13 at home...San Diego State, meanwhile, fell to 2-9 on the road this season and 0-6 in Mountain West Conference play...the Aztecs have lost 9 straight away from Cox Arena...UNM is guaranteed no worse than a .500 season with the win.

San Diego State led by as many as 6 points, 23-17, at the 8:10 mark of the first half...however, New Mexico scored 27 of the next 33 points in the game to stake a 44-29 lead five minutes into the second half...the Lobos held the Aztecs scoreless for the first 6:26 of the second half...SDSU finally got on the board at the 13:34 mark on reserve guard Trimaine Davis' jumper.

After being outrebounded by a season-worst 16 (43-17) in its last meeting with San Diego State, New Mexico trailed by just two tonight, 38-36...Danny Granger led all players with 15 rebounds, one shy of his season-high...Granger notched double-digits in rebounds for the first time in 11 games when he grabbed 14 at Wyoming.

UNM post David Chiotti tallied 14 points and 6 rebounds in the second half...after starting the night 1-6 from the floor, Chiotti hit 6 of his next 7...he sat out the first meeting of the year with the Aztecs due to a sprained ankle.

SDSU center Aerick Sanders finished with just 10 points (5-12 FGs) and 7 rebounds in 29 minutes before fouling out in the second half...Sanders posted 27 points (10-14 FGs) and 10 rebounds in 40 minutes on Feb. 2 vs. New Mexico.

The Lobos shot 42.3% (22-52) from the floor for the game...it is the lowest FG% for New Mexico in a win this season...the Lobos also shot 42.6% in their, 65-63, victory over BYU (1-26-04).

The Lobos starting backcourt of Javin Tindall and Troy DeVries combined for 32 points on 8-10 from the floor, 7-8 from 3-pt. range and 7-9 from the foul line.

Lobo Junior Danny Granger scored 20 points and grabbed 15 rebounds...it is his sixth double-double in a Lobo uniform and the 17th of his career...it is his first double-double since getting 30 points and 14 rebounds at Wyoming (1-12-04).

The Lobos went to the foul line 29 times in the game, making 21...SDSU hit just 3-6 from the foul line...It is the most FT's made and attempted for the Lobos in four games, while it is the fewest FT's made and attempted by a Lobo opponent this season.
