University of New Mexico men's golf alumni finished a strong weekend on the PGA and Nationwide Tours Sunday. Five former Lobos recorded top-20 showings in the two professional events last weekend. Tommy Armour III (1980-81) led the way with his fourth top-10 of the season when he finished second at the PGA's Travelers Championships in Cromwell, Conn.

Armour III shot a 17-under 263 to finish one stroke off the pace set by Stewart Cink at the TPC at River Highlands. He was joined in the top-10 by fellow UNM alum Michael Letzig (2000-03) who tied for 10th at 12-under. Tim Herron (1990-93) posted one of his best finishes of the year, tying for 19th at 10-under. Other former Lobos who also played at the Travelers Championships include Kent Jones (1986-90) who tied for 45th at 5-under, and Doug LaBelle II (1995-98) who did not make the cut.

On the Nationwide Tour, D.J. Brigman (1996-99) represented UNM with his third place finish at the Knoxville Open. He was two shots off the lead with a 17-under 271. Spencer Levin (2004-05) also competed in Knoxville, tying for seventh at 15-under.
