The University of New Mexico track and field team finished its last tune up of the season at the Texas Tech Red Raider Open and the Front Range Classic this weekend as they prepare for the Mountain West Outdoor Championships this upcoming weekend.

Out at the two meet, the 14-person Lobos pack tallied 13 top-ten finishes, including four marks that rank in the top 100 of the NCAA's rankings.

For the women, the one of the highlights was Yeshemabet Turner's personal-best of 39-feet, 5.25-inches in the triple jump at the Red Raider Open, as she earned fourth overall.

Also out in Lubbock, Shirley Pitts notched a 54.70-second time in the 400-meter dash for fifth, and Precious Selmon registered a 13.95 time in the 100m hurdles for fifth.

The women's four pole vaulters competed at the Front Range Classic, with Margo Tucker (12-11.5) snagging third, and Nathalie Busk (12-3.5), Emily Heisler (11-11.75) and Julia Cook (11-5.75) picking up fifth through seventh. Tucker now moves up to 68th in the NCAA in 2012.

On the men's side, one of the headlines was Ty Kirk's 50-9.5 mark in the triple jump at Texas Tech, which snapped up third at the meet and now ranks 39th in the nation.

Beejay Lee and Lamaar Thomas raced to times of 10.55 and 10.70, respectively, in the 100m dash, earning fifth and 11th.

The men's two premier hurdlers also competed, as De'Vron Walker placed fourth with a 14.33 time in the 110m hurdles and Chaz Lewis finished second with a 52.03 clocking in the 400m hurdles.

The men's 4x100 relay team, comprised of Lee, Thomas, Walker and Kendall Spencer, clocked a 40.59 time to net fourth.

Out at the Front Range Classic, pole vaulter Logan Pflibsen registered his first outdoor mark with a 16-10.75 vault for second in the meet and 64th in the nation.

The Lobos are back at it next weekend for the Mountain West Outdoor Track and Field Championships, where the squad will try to take home the hardware and pick up some more regionally qualifying marks.
