MILWAUKEE, Wis. --- The University of New Mexico women's soccer team moved to 2-0-1 Friday night after a double overtime 1-1 draw with the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Lobo sophomore Zaneta Wyne netted the lone goal for New Mexico in the 53rd minute. Wyne scored her seventh career goal and her second of the year. The Lobos return to action Sunday at Valley Fields in Milwaukee against nationally-ranked Marquette (2-0-1).
Wyne snapped a scoreless match in the second half. She gathered an assist from sophomore Stephanie Rowe and finished from 10 yards out. It was Rowe's first assist of the year. UNM has scored 11 goals in three games this season and has outscored its opponents, 11-1.
UNM sophomore goal keeper Kelli Cornell played the full 110 minutes. She moves to 2-0-1 on the year and finished the match with three saves. Cornell has started every game in goal for the Lobos and has 10 saves.
New Mexico had 11 shots in the match with four shots on goal. Junior Jennifer Williams led the way with four shots for the Lobos.
The Panthers (1-1-1), who trailed much of the game, notched the tying goal in the 82nd minute. Laurel Ragalie was credited with the goal for UWM it was her first of the year. Sarah Hagen and Mary Wandolowski were credited on the double-assist.
