COLUMBUS, Ohio - The University of New Mexico men's tennis team downed Stetson, 4-0, on Sunday in the consolation match of the ITA Team Indoor Tournament. The Lobos improve to 3-1 on the season.

No. 41 New Mexico is now 4-0 in doubles points this spring. After losing the first match, seniors Johnny Parkes and Miles Bugby and senior Graeme Kassautzki and sophomore Joe Wood both won their matches at the No. 1 and No. 2 slots to give the Lobos the 1-0 lead. Parkes and Bugby remain undefeated in doubles play this season with the 9-8 (7-3) win over Stetson's Filip Kricka and Maksim Levanovich. Kassuatzki and Wood won decisively over Mark Mestan and Cesare Gallo, 8-1.

A day after starting singles play losing three straight matches, the Lobos came out with three straight wins. Phil Anderson won his second singles match of the season, 6-1, 6-2, over Chris Swanteson at the No. 6 position. Parkes continued to dominate with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Kricka. Parkes is a combined 8-0 on the spring. Kassautzki gave the Lobos the final victory point with a win at the No. 2 slot over Mestan, 6-4, 6-3.

Bugby, Ben Dunbar and Carl Ho completed one set before their matches were called.

New Mexico travels to Oregon for matches against UC-Santa Barbara on Saturday, Feb. 7 and Oregon on Sunday, Feb. 8.
