TULSA, Okla. --- University of New Mexico men's tennis ended their successful run at the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Championship in Tulsa, Okla. Seniors Max Jones and Kamil Pajkowski team-up for doubles, winning their first two rounds. The third round match's winner earned a bid to the main draw but Jones and Pajkowski fell short (8-6) against Houston Barrick and Dominic Inglot from Virginia.
Chris Parkes also earned two wins during the tournament. After dropping his first set, Chris Parkes battled back to win the first round match (3-6, 6-3, 6-3) against Jonah Kane West from Texas. He would win one more match before retiring from the third round match against Morgan Richard from Middle Tennessee (6-3, ret.).
All three Lobos in the qualifying draw won one of two matches. Max Jones won his first round match against College of Charleston's Omer Abramovich (7-6(4), 6-1). Both Graeme Kassautzki and Johnny Parkes lost in the first round of the draw but went on to each win a consolidation match. UNM was represented by another doubles team with both Chris and Johnny Parkes teaming up but they lost their first round match, cutting their run short.
The Lobos will host their only fall invite this weekend (Oct. 5-7) at the tennis complex.
