-Sophomore CB Tim Foley brought out the state flag during the team entrance on the field.
-UNM ended a 24-game losing streak outside New Mexico. Its last win outside the state came on Oct. 20, 2007, a 20-17 victory at San Diego State. The win also ended an 18-game road losing streak in the Mountain West, the last win also on Oct. 20, 2007 in San Diego.
-New Mexico scored on its first drive for the second straight game (six plays, 83 yards, 2:34 time of possession) and for the fourth time overall this season (three TDs, one field goal).
-The Lobos allowed a season-long 51-yard TD reception in the second quarter to Hawai'i WR Scott Harding.
- UNM had five rushing touchdowns in the game, giving the offense 23 rushing TDs on the season. The team had 23 rushing TDs combined in 2010-11.
- The Lobos went over the 300-yard rushing mark for the fifth time this season and fourth in a row. The last time UNM had five 300-yard rushing games (and four in a row) in a season was 1972.
-Hawaii KR Mike Edwards' 100-yard kickoff return for a TD was the first against UNM since Marquel Wade scored on an 85-yard return for Arkansas last season.
-This is the latest UNM has had a winning record since finishing 2007 with a 9-4 mark.
-RB Kasey Carrier had two rushing TDs in the first half to give him eight rushing TDs in the past four games. He had a 23-yard TD run in the first quarter and a 1-yard run in the second. Carrier recorded his second straight 100-yard rushing game and third of the season.
-Sophomore WR SaQwan Edwards caught a career a career-long 36 yard reception on a first-quarter screen pass.
He later scored his first career TD on a 6-yard TD run in the first quarter. The TD was UNM's 20 th rushing score of the season, and Edwards became the sixth different Lobo to score on the ground.
-QB B.R. Holbrook's 60 yards passing on UNM's opening drive were more yards through the air than the team had in four of its first six games. Holbrook surpassed the 100-yard mark passing for the first time this season.
-Holbrook scored his first rushing TD of the season in the fourth quarter and became the seventh different Lobo to score a rushing TD.
-QB Cole Gautche completed his second pass of the season, an 11-yarder to TE Lucas Reed in the second quarter, and first since the season opener against Southern. Both of Gautsche's completions have been to tight ends (the other was to Chris Edling).
-Gautsche scored on a critical, 76-yard TD run in the third quarter, just moments after the Lobos made a stop on downs at their own 5. The run was the longest of Gautsche's career and the longest run for a TD since James Wright's 84-yard scoring run vs. Air Force in 2009. Gautsche recorded his first 100-yard rushing day, finishing with 104 before leaving the game in the third quarter due to injury.
-Carrier and Gautsche became the first UNM twosome to rush for 100 yards each in a game since Rodney Ferguson and (149 yards) and James Wright (112) both went over the century mark vs. San Diego State on Oct. 18, 2008.
-Reed caught a season-high two receptions.
