University of New Mexico men's soccer player Mike Graczyk was named to CollegeSoccerNews.com's Preseason All-American second team today. Graczyk, a senior goalkeeper from Albuquerque, N.M., is a two-time All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation selection, earning first team honors last season. This is the third consecutive season a Lobo has garnered preseason attention. Jeff Rowland (2005) and Andrew Boyens (2006) were both preseason All-American selections prior to their senior years.

Graczyk posted a 0.639 goals-against-average last season, ranking 15th in the nation. He also logged 11 shutouts, playing every minute in goal for New Mexico. He has 24 career shutouts and needs one more to tie Andrew Weber (2001-04) for the school record. Graczyk's 0.64 g.a.a. is currently the lowest in school history.

Coming off their third consecutive MPSF title, the Lobos are ranked No. 10 in the preseason. New Mexico begins practice on Monday, Aug. 13, at 7:30 a.m. on the Robertson practice field. UNM begins play on Aug. 23 against No. 11 Notre Dame in an exhibition match in Fort Wayne, Ind. The regular season kicks off on Aug. 31 at Akron and the home opener is set for Sept. 7 against Loyola Marymount.
