FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. --- New Mexico women's soccer defeated Northern Arizona, 1-0, Sunday to conclude the spring season. Senior Anna Neu scored the only goal for the Lobos after winning the ball and finding the net from 40 yards out. Neu had two goals this spring and helped UNM continue to develop as they prepare for the 2007 season this fall. The Lobos record their first shutout and conclude the spring on a positive note.
"We did some really good things Sunday and it was a great way to finish the spring," said Head Coach Kit Vela. "We are young but very dynamic and if we can gel early in the fall we will have an opportunity to do great things. This was a team effort and it was good for our backline to get experience. We have continued to improve throughout the spring and I'm pleased with their effort."
UNM will continue to workout but will not compete again as a team until the fall. For more information about UNM women's soccer visit www.GoLobos.com.
