ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- The New Mexico swimming and diving team will host New Mexico State on Thursday, Jan. 31, at 1 p.m. in the next round of the Route 66 Casino Hotel Rio Grande Rivalry. The meet will take place at West Mesa High School in Albuquerque due to continuing renovations at Seidler Natatorium on the UNM campus.
Five seniors will be competing in their final home competition as Lobos. Amina Adnan (Albuquerque), Tori Clarridge (Ontario, Canada), Ashley LaBree (Henderson, Nev.), Carrie Quinn (San Clemente, Calif.), and Andrea Zarins (Ontario, Canada) will have the chance to beat the Aggies for four consecutive seasons with a team win on Thursday.
The Lobos are 12-2 in dual competition against NMSU since the 1990-91 season, including a current six-meet winning streak. Thursday's meet is worth 1.5 points to the winner in the Rio Grande Rivalry standings. UNM currently leads, 7.5 - 4.5.
Up Next: The divers will be heading to the Air Force Diving Invitational on Feb. 1-2 in Colorado Springs. The next event for the full team is the 2008 Mountain West Conference Swimming & Diving Championships, Feb. 27-March 1, in Oklahoma City, Okla.
