The University of New Mexico ticket office closed its doors for the day with a total of 14,344 football season tickets sold for the 2003 season. The total is the best in school history, breaking the previous mark of 14,254 set in 1998.
New Mexico sold 14,142 season tickets last year and has set a goal of 16,000 for the 2003 campaign.
The Lobos open the season on Saturday versus Texas State-San Marcos at University Stadium. UNM has sold over 27,000 tickets for the opener, but plenty of good seats remain. Saturday's game will kick off at 6 p.m. (MST).
Fans can purchase season tickets by visiting the UNM ticket office at The Pit or by calling 925-LOBO.
