FORT COLLINS, Colo.--Junior Amy Beggin scored 22 points to lead the Lobos past the Colorado State Rams, 76-68 tonight at the Moby Arena. New Mexico extends its streak to 11 straight wins over Colorado State. Beggin has now scored in double digits in 18 out of 19 games this season and has scored more than 20 points three times this season. Beggin also picked up a career high six steals on the night. The Lobos improve to 16-3 on the season and 5-1 in Mountain West Conference play. The Rams fall to 7-12 on the season and 2-5 in MWC play.
With the win head coach Don Flanagan picks up his 299th career victory. Flanagan is now 299-129 for his collegiate coaching career at the University of New Mexico.
The Lobos held the Rams only 38.6 percent from the field and scored 16 points off of 16 Ram turnovers.
The Lobos will host the Utah Utes on Sunday, Feb. 1 at 12:00 MT in the Pit. Head coach Don Flanagan will go for win No. 300 in a game will feature the top two teams in the MWC and will have major implications on the MWC standings.
