ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The University of New Mexico women's basketball team will play host to the Lady Rebels of UNLV on Saturday night for Pack The Pit. The Lobos are 12-7 on the season and 2-4 in conference, while the Lady Rebels are 9-9 overall and 3-3 in the MWC. Tickets for Saturday's game are $4 for adults and $3 for youth (ages 2-18) and the first 5,000 fans will also receive a 40th anniversary Lobo keychain courtesy of Pepsi. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM from The Pit.

TONIGHT'S GAME: Tonight's game features the Lobos of the University of New Mexico playing host to the Lady Rebels of UNLV in a Mountain West Conference game.

SCOUTING THE LOBOS: New Mexico is 12-7 this season and 2-4 in the MWC with victories over Florida Atlantic (74-44), No. 25 Texas (63-60), Georgia Southern (64-43), Siena (78-39), New Mexico State (81-47 and 65-45), at Arizona (76-63), Sam Houston State (77-41), UCLA (72-63), Northern Arizona (62-51), Colorado State (73-42) and Air Force (60-46) and losses to No. 12/13 Arizona State (67-49), Nebraska (66-59), No. 7/8 Oklahoma (80-58), Wyoming (54-51), Utah (49-48), BYU (63-59) and TCU (67-43). UNM is led in scoring by senior Julie Briody at 15.7 ppg and rebounding by junior Brandi Kimble at 5.7 rpg. Leading the Lobos in assists is senior Katie Montgomery at 3.1 apg.

SCOUTING THE LADY REBELS: UNLV is 9-9 on the year and 3-3 in the conference with wins over Cal State Bakersfield (60-52), Elon (70-40), Long Beach State (61-44), UC-Irvine (74-50), DePaul (89-71), Nevada (77-63), San Diego State (71-54), Wyoming (51-46) and Air Force (63-55) and losses to Pepperdine (57-42), Michigan (68-58), Wisconsin (67-51), Southern Utah (56-52), Boise State (76-63), UT-San Antonio (70-62), TCU (88-63), Utah (49-37) and BYU (64-59). Leading the Lady Rebels in scoring is Sequoia Holmes at 13.5 ppg and Faye Muller leads them in rebounding at 10.4 rpg. Leading them in assists is Brittany Halberg at 3.1 apg.

THE COACHES: UNM is led by head coach Don Flanagan who enters his 12th season at New Mexico. Flanagan is 251-111 at UNM. The head coach of UNLV is Regina Miller who is in her ninth season as a Lady Rebel and 15th overall. Miller has a record of 161-97 at UNLV and 221-197 overall.

THE SERIES: This will be the first of two meetings between New Mexico and UNLV and the 32nd meeting overall with the Lady Rebels holding a 20-11 advantage. UNLV took two of the three meetings last season but the Lobos own an 8-4 edge at The Pit.

PACK THE PIT: Pack The Pit is tonight and as part of the 40th year of The Pit, UNM athletics will honor the most successful team in Lady Lobo basketball history, the 2003 Sweet Sixteen team. Tickets are only $4 for adults and $3 for youth (ages 2-18). Game Sponsors are 100.3 The Peak, Comcast and Pepsi. The first 5,000 fans will also receive a 40th anniversary Lobo keychain courtesy of Pepsi.

SWEET SIXTEEN TEAM: Twelve members of the only Sweet Sixteen team in school history will be back at The Pit tonight. The team won their first ever MWC title, which led to three consecutive, defeated Miami in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament and Mississippi State in the second round, before falling to Texas Tech in the Sweet Sixteen. The win over Miami was also their first win in the NCAA Tournament. The 2002-03 team was 24-9.
