Northwestern Wildcats vs. Western Michigan Broncos

Northwestern head coach Beth Combs:

Thoughts on the game:
"I'm disappointed in our lack of focus. We had a good lead we were able to maintain and we let it get away from us. Western Michigan fought harder than we did and it came down to a matter of guts and I think they had a couple more than we did."

Western Michigan head coach Ron Stewart:

Thoughts on the game:
"Generally it was a very ugly game to start, throughout the first half really. It was a game where both teams played sluggish. We had poor shooting in the first half. I think both teams definitely showed signs of traveling and having tough games yesterday. Neither team played as well on offense as they really are. It took us a while to get into a defense pattern but I think it was the way we played defensively in the second half that really turned the tide for us. We didn't really turn the ball over in the second half or even that much in the game. We shot very poorly. When you shoot 28 percent and win a basketball game, it means you've got to do other things to scrap around and have a chance to win."
