New Mexico head coach Don Flanagan:
Overall thoughts on the game:
"We thought it would be a grind out game and that is basically what it was. (Wyoming) didn't get any fast breaks they just executed their offense better than we did. (Wyoming) got to the free throw line more than we did, in the second half they were attacking the basket better than we were because they were getting to the line and that is just something we need to figure out a way to do. I thought we got focused a little bit offensively, to much on Dionne and one player can't carry a whole team, the rest of the players kinda standing around waiting for Dionne to do it all."
"...I think I was more disappointed with our offense the last time down because I just didn't feel like, the whole game I didn't feel we were running our offense effectively. As good as we were playing defense we might have been able to run out the clock and then get a last shot. I guess it wasn't a very good strategy."
Wyoming Cowgirls head coach Joe Legerski:
"Dionne (Marsh) is a tremendous player, sixteen points in the first half, and twenty-four in the whole game. I knew we couldn't double her all night. We had to pick our chances to try and do it. Tonight we were fortunate to get some touches and get the ball going the other way. I also thought offensive rebounding was a key. It gave us an extra chance and we just tried to spread the floor and try to find a mismatch if we could."
"We knew it was going to be very difficult. Both teams play tremendous defense and shots are hard to come by. That's exactly what tonight was about."
