The University of New Mexico men's golf team will open the season September 7-9 in Fukushima, Japan at the 2004 Topy Cup. This is the third time the Lobos have made the trip to Japan, as UNM played in the 1996 and 200 Topy Cups. New Mexico joins three other American universities and teams from Japan to make up the field. The Lobos enter the season ranked ninth in Golfweek magazine and 14th in Golfworld magazine. The Topy Cup will be played on the par-72, 7,086 yard Tanagura Country Club.
