Albuquerque, N.M.-Mountain West Conference Tennis Player of the Year, Johnny Parkes, clinched the win for the Lobo tennis team today as they advanced to the semifinals of the Mountain West Conference Men's Tennis Tournament. No. 2 seed New Mexico (18-5) defeated No. 7 seed Air Force (7-18), 4-0 Thursday at the Jerry Cline Tennis Center. The Lobos will play No. 6 seed UNLV tomorrow at 2 p.m.

After quickly capturing the doubles point at No. 1 and 2 New Mexico didn't slow down. Phil Anderson dominated Taylor Soster winning 6-0, 6-3.

Stepping in for Ben Dunbar at the No. 6 singles position Joe Wood captured the third point for the Lobos. Woods only gave up two games in his victory over James Tomlin, 6-1, 6-1.

Parkes didn't disappoint as he clinched the win for the Lobos. The Mountain West Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Year, only let Cody Hall get within three during the two sets. Parkes defeated Hall, 6-2, 6-1.

New Mexico will be back in action tomorrow @ 2 p.m. as they take on UNLV in the Mountain West Conference Tournament semifinals.
