Lacaille and Pecherand-Charmet Earn FIS Wins

WINTER PARK, Colo. --- University of New Mexico Alpine skiers Olivier Lacaille and Estelle Pecherand-Charmet won their respective giant slalom races on Saturday, Dec. 13, at the FIS event in Winter Park, Colo.

Pecherand-Charmet, a sophomore from Praz Sur Arly, France, won the women's race with a total time of 2:21.17. Senior Karin Ohlin placed eighth and freshman Jacqueline Hangl finished 10th

Lacaille, a junior from Montreal, won the men's race with a total time of 2:14.14.

The Lobos did not race on Sunday due to poor weather conditions.

UNM will continue training over the holidays before they head to Alaska for the beginning of the collegiate season and the Nordic U.S. Nationals.
