Against TCU: TCU holds a 19-9 advantage in the series, but New Mexico won the series in Fort Worth earlier this season, 2-1. The Lobos are 3-1 in the last four games against the Frogs after snapping a nine-game losing streak to TCU on May 19, 2007.

LOBO BASEBALL QUICK HITS
IT ALL COMES DOWN TO THIS ... New Mexico and TCU are tied for first place in the Mountain West Conference coming into this weekend's final three-game series of the regular season. The first team to win two games this weekend will be the 2008 MWC regular season champion and the No. 1 seed in the MWC Tournament next week in Fort Worth. The last Lobo conference baseball title was in 2000, the first season of MWC competition. The winner of the MWC Tournament receives the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
SENIOR DAY FOR NINE LOBOS ... Nine Lobo seniors will be celebrating their careers at UNM on Saturday, May 17 - Quentin Andes, Matt Hibbitts, Ian Hollick, Chad Itokazu, Bobby LaFromboise, Drew McDonald, Jacob Norton, Adam Skelton, and Stephen Smith. All nine will be recognized during pre-game ceremonies beginning at approximately 11:30 a.m.
NEW MEXICO AT A GLANCE (32-20, 16-5 MWC) ... The Lobos are currently tied for first place in the Mountain West Conference, going into this weekend's series with TCU ... UNM received votes in the USA Today Coaches Poll for the third time this season on April 21 and holds an official NCAA RPI of 81 going into the UNLV series ... The Lobos have put together two seven-game winning streaks this season - Feb. 22-March 1 and March 26-April 5 ... UNM leads the MWC in several offensive categories, hits and RBI, to name a few, and in fielding percentage ... In league games, the Lobos are leaders in batting average, slugging percentage, and on-base percentage ... Junior Mike Brownstein leads the team in batting with a .366 average ... The right side of the infield, first baseman Kevin Atkinson and second baseman Mike Brownstein, has started every game for the Lobos in 2008 ... True freshman Rafael Neda is having a solid season, hitting .322 and starting 44 games for UNM, 34 starts at catcher ... The pitching rotation has stabilized with seniors Bobby LaFromboise, Jacob Norton and Stephen Smith leading the way ... Norton became the Lobos first 6-game winner on May 10 at UNLV ... LaFromboise leads the team in strikeouts with 54, followed by Smith with 46 ... Closer Clinton Cox leads the Lobo pitching staff with 23 appearances and 3 saves ... John Hesketh and Will Kerr have been solid mid-week starters against some of the toughest teams in the country ... With the end of mid-week games, Hesketh and Kerr have moved back to the bullpen and may see some spot starts ... Kerr and Daniel Grubbs have provided solid middle relief to set-up Cox.
TCU AT A GLANCE (36-16, 16-5 MWC) ... The Horned Frogs have a 7-game win streak going into this week's series with UNM ... Since joining the league in 2006, TCU has won the regular season and tournament championships two years in a row ... Senior Clint Arnold leads TCU offensively with a .347 batting average ... Sophomore Tyler Lockwood and freshman Sean Hoelscher lead the pitching staff as starters ... Lockwood is 5-1 on the season with a 2.09 ERA, while Hoelscher is 7-2 with a 3.77 ERA ... Junior Andrew Cashner leads the team in appearances with 25 out of the bullpen leading to an 8-3 record with 7 saves and a 2.08 ERA.
