Lobos Tabbed 20th in USA Today/ESPN Preseason Coaches Poll

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The USA Today/ESPN Preseason Top 25 Coaches Poll was released today and the University of New Mexico women's basketball team is ranked 20th. This marks the first time in UNM history that the Lobos have started the season in the top 25. New Mexico finished last season ranked 21st in this poll.

The Lobos (22--10 last season with a trip to the NCAA Tournament second round) will take on four other teams in the Coaches Poll this season. UNM will face #3 Oklahoma on December 30, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, #12 Arizona State on November 13, in Tempe, Arizona, #23 UCLA in a possible matchup December 9 at The Pit and #24 BYU on January 10, in Albuquerque, and February 10, in Provo, Utah.

The Lobos kick off the season tonight with an exhibition game against Vanguard at 7 pm. The first regular season game is at the Veteran's Day Classic in Tempe, Arizona, vs. Florida Atlantic on Nov. 10, at 1:30 pm.
