Tulsa, Okla. - The Lobos are looking towards tomorrow with the qualifying round of doubles coming up along with the main draw of doubles. The Lobos will also be competing in the consolation round for singles.

Jadon Phillips started the day off with a very close three-set match against Louisiana State's Olivier Borsos falling with a score of 3-6, 7-5, 7-6. He will be facing University of Florida's Andrew Butz in the consolation round at 9:30 a.m.

Ben Dunbar faced against University of Texas's David Holiner dropping the match with a score of 6-3, 6-4. He will be playing against Wisconsin's Billy Bertha in the consolation round at 9:30 a.m.

Phillip Anderson played a tough match going into three-sets against Baylor's Marko Krickovic but was defeated with a score of 3-6, 6-4, 6-2. He will be going up against Duke's Fred Saba in the consolation round at 9:30 a.m.

"Even though I lost, I'm pleased with my level of play. I played much better today than I did in my last matches at Midland. Today I played the way the coaching staff and I agree gives me my best chance of winning, so for that I'm happy," UNM Senior Phillip Anderson said. "I played a tough opponent and I give him a lot of credit, he had to play well to beat me. Of course there are areas I can improve, but overall I'm happy. I'm excited for one more singles match before Jadon and I get after it in doubles."

The Lobos will each play one more match in singles and Assistant Coach Bart Scott thinks it will be helpful to the players in gaining every bit of experience possible to compete better in future tournaments.

"Today was a tough day in that all the guys played really well and gave themselves a chance to win, but just couldn't get over the hump and get the wins. Tennis is about competing hard for every point and taking your opportunities when they come, because if you don't, your opponent usually will," he said. "We get to play one more singles match before we turn our attention to doubles, and I'm confident that if they concentrate a bit better in the important moments of the match they will take those opportunities and come out on top!"

Play will begin tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. for the consolation round of singles. For the qualifying round of doubles which begins at 3:30 p.m., Conor Berg and Ben Dunbar will be facing off against Oklahoma State's Maniel Bains and Eric West who are seeded number 15 in the tournament and are ranked nationally at number 84.
